Yup, I'm still alive.
About a week ago, I finally shook the hives. It took almost two weeks to fully get rid of them. I was taking Benadryl and drinking a gallon of water per day, but I did it. I am finally starting to feel human, again.
I haven't been taking any supplements for all that time (other than Benadryl about every other day), since I've been afraid of stimulating an allergic reaction, again. I've tried to keep eating healthy, but for a while I stopped being obsessive about calorie counting. Did I go over 1,000 calories? Yes, I'm sure I did, several days, but not too excessively. I know about how much food I can ingest without watching that scale go, bam! take that!
This weekend I intend to go back to Calorie King and start recording again.
One more month until I have the endocrinologist appointment. Next week I will have the bloodwork done, and will be sure to post results. I wanted to get it done this week, but got caught up in too many problems at work to make the time.
I appreciate the support from comments. Believe me, I am open to advice from ladies who are going through similar life changes.
I have low thyroid as well. Oh, I get sweaty and experience hot flashes. I am also prone to moodiness. So far, natural thyroid has positive effects on me.
ReplyDeleteHi, I have enjoyed reading your blog. I have been hypothyroid now for about 18 years and just now started to get my life back. There are so many of us suffering in the same boat. Sigh. I will say, that I started taking Cytomel two years ago, along with my Synthroid when I went to a thyroid specialist. I highly recommend it.I have lost 50 pounds so far. It helped with my thyroid symptoms and increased my metabolism and I was finally able to lose some weight, although I did have to exercise frequently on a low cal diet, but it is worth it if you can actually lose weight in the process despite the condition. I know you will probably lose even without exercise, but it made me feel so much better, I couldn't wait to increase my weight loss and start to recognize the girl in the mirror. I know several women that got on it before me (which is why I tried it) and I will never go back...good luck. I certainly KNOW your frustration =) Jodie
